  Accent1Approach
The seminar is based on the belief that emotionally-healthy adults, given information, guidance and emotional support, can learn to cope with a crisis (such as the ending of a love-relationship) and use it as an opportunity for their personal growth and change. The model we use is an educational one allowing class members to get an intellectual understanding of the adjustment process and support, enabling one to better cope with the emotional stress of becoming single.
During the seminar, members will come to understand the process by which one adjusts to the ending of a love relationship; understanding the emotional aspects of this process, including learning to deal with feeling such as grief, anger, loneliness, rejection, guilt and low self-esteem, plus members will build a support system of "life-line" friends upon whom they can rely in times of crisis. During this process each member will be supported by a trained psychotherapist and several group leaders who themselves have gone through the ending of a love relationship and are graduates of the group seminar.
